Aaron Bobrow (American, b. 1985) lives and works in New York City and is known primarily for his use of rudimentary and commonplace materials, most notably, tarp. Bobrow typically pulls materials across canvas stretchers, allowing for the various weights and stresses in tension along the plastic to compose various brush-like strokes. Highly calculated and refined, these compositions have great philosophical implication in their propensity for meaning and their profound creation from nothing. Bobrow received his BFA from Parsons School of Design in New York City.
