Andrew Schoultz (American, b. 1975) combines hyperrealist and familiar images to describe the current political and environmental climate. His meticulous works frenetically evoke the notions of war and spirituality in their layered tactility and repeated patterns, implicating the recurring nature of historical tragedy and corruption. They are simultaneously alluring in their whimsy, while denouncing chaos and social troubles. Scholutz works in a variety of mediums, including large-scale murals, works on paper, paintings, and sculpture, among others. He received his BFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
