Norweigian artist Ann Cathrin Hoibo (b. 1979) primarily works in the medium of textile, calling upon the deep Nordic tradition of the loom. Hoibo’s artworks, however, use the medium as a starting point and further imbuing her tapestries with emotionally-charged commentary on gender, sexuality, and daily experience. Recently her work has been seen at STANDARD (Oslo), The Carl Freedman Gallery, Künstlerhaus Halle für Kunst & Medien, Graz, and the James Cohan Gallery.
