Erró (Icelandic, b. 1932), alias of Gudmunder Gudmundsson, is a Pop-artist. Erró uses cartoon characters taken from various sources in his collages, which are often juxtaposed with historical figures such as despots and Greek Gods. Erró’s extensive travels throughout Europe and North and South America provided a significant source of inspiration. After attending art school in Reykjavik, he continued his studies at the Florence Academy of Art in 1954 followed by the School of Byzantine Mosaic Art in Ravenna in 1955.
