Jack Mitchell (American, 1925-2013) was an American photographer and author known for his work with entertainment professionals and creatives. After returning from the U.S. Army in Florence and Venice, in which he worked as a public relations photographer, Mitchell began to photograph dancers in New York City. Mitchell’s career is marked with numerous special assignments ranging from some of the world’s leading dance companies to The New York Times Arts and Leisure section.
