New York-based street artist Jerkface (American) is best known for the graphic, repetitive nature of his unique, Cubist-inflected canvases, which reference and reconfigure characters from cartoons, comics, and videogames, including Homer Simpson, SpongeBob SquarePants, and the Smurfs. A native of Queens, New York, Jerkface’s dynamic, one-of-a-kind takes on the mythical stars of his childhood are often found spray-painted in typically vibrant colors on walls throughout the New York City, with other examples occasionally popping up elsewhere across the US.
