Description

Animal symbols serve as reminders of qualities we all aspire to have (i.e. strength, courage, masculinity). The rooster acts as an aid on our path to obtaining the qualities of the virtue we desire. The rooster has been celebrated to be a protector, a guardian that enlightens paths to our hidden self or enlightens our path to take notice of hidden powers. It is also the celebration of life by embracing the sun. In many countries all over the world the rooster is viewed as sacred, or is used in sacred ceremony.

This piece was featured in the Whitney Biennial 2017 and in an exhibit at El Museo del Barrio.
