Robert Delaunay (French, 1885-1941) is known for his bold use of color and experimentation with depth, tone, and shape to represent modern life. He co-founded the strongly colored and dynamic Orphism art movement with his wife, Sonia Delaunay. Later in life, Delaunay’s works could be categorized as more vibrantly abstract, similar to the works of Paul Klee.
