Alun Be reflects upon and reimagines topics at the core of modern societies, including religion, race, technology, the environment, and the refugee crisis. This work comes from his project Antonym (2016), where he stages people in front of signs in the Paris Metro who visually contradict the usual interpretations of what the signs display. This print, entitled Europe, challenges the general perception of Europe as a traditionally white hegemonic society.
