About Amy Sillman

Amy Sillman (American, b. 1955) is a preeminent contemporary painter whose figurative works and landscapes are characterized by bright pastels, layered lines, and a sense of intensity. She is the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, including the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Painting in 1995. Her work is exhibited internationally, and resides within the public collections of multiple institutions, including the Art Institute of Chicago; the Brooklyn Museum; the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC; MoMA; and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
