Amy Sillman (American, b. 1955) is a painter whose diverse background, including working in a feminist silkscreen factory and as a Japanese Interpreter, eventually led her to New York University and Bard College. She is the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, including the National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in painting in 1995. Sillman’s works are characterized by pastel and bright colors, as well as figurative and landscape compositions comprised of cartoon lines. Her work is exhibited internationally.
