In ‘Untitled,’ a mysterious and alluring red glow calls to the viewer from a distance. The shadows themselves seem to burn amidst the encroaching silhouettes of this metaphysical composition.

About Anish Kapoor

One of the most influential sculptors of this century, Anish Kapoor (British-Indian, b. 1954) excels at combining geometric forms into feats of engineering and artistic prowess. His earlier work consisted of large, biomorphic sculptures made from natural materials, such as granite, limestone, and marble. Expanding his practice to larger public commissions, his projects include ‘Cloud Gate’ (2004) in Chicago’s Millennium Park and ‘Orbit’ (2012) in London’s Olympic Park. In 1990, he represented Great Britain at the Venice Biennale. He later was awarded the Turner Prize and a Knighthood.
