About Anthony Goicolea

Artist Anthony Goicolea (Cuban-American, b. 1970) works across all mediums to explore notions of identity, sexuality, assimilation, and alienation. Though his compositions appear in sculpture and film installations, he is best known for his elaborately staged, digitally-manipulated photographs where he transforms and replicates himself to depict adolescents in various, fantastical scenarios. His work has been exhibited across Europe and North America, and currently resides within the collections of MoMA, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, and the Hirshhorn Museum, among others.
