Barbara Kruger (American, b. 1945) is a conceptual artist who studied at Syracuse University, the School of Visual Arts, and with Diane Arbus at Parsons School of Design, New York. Kruger is known for her post-modern feminist works, often depicting black and white photographs overlaid with text. She has taught at the California Institute of Art, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of California, Berkeley. She currently lives in Los Angeles and New York.
