From witty early porcelain figurines to his more recent social commentary of installations and drawings, Barnaby Barford uses familiar iconography to subvert the telling of ancient cautionary tales within a contemporary context. His research explores questions driving human nature in terms of morality, conflict between good and evil, lack of happiness, and society’s incessant need for growth. Barford’s latest work “MORE MORE MORE” explores society’s need for more and the detrimental effect it has on us as individuals, as a community, and the planet, and this piece “Everything You Ever Wanted XII” is from that work.
