About Carlos Rolón

Carlos Rolón (American, b. 1970) is an artist known for his ornate paintings, which draw from art history and popular culture in an aim to explore how the masculine can be delicate and how the baroque can be minimal. Through his works, the artist also incorporates influences of his Puerto Rican heritage. Rolón was also the recipient of the Joan Mitchell Foundation award for Painting and Sculpture. He presently lives and works in Chicago, IL.
