About Charming Baker

Charming Baker (England, b. 1964) explores the linked dichotomy between life and death, love and terror, and joy, or rather, the intrinsically linked themes surrounding human condition and experience. He attended Central St Martin’s in 1985, where he later returned as a lecturer. He is represented by The Jealous Gallery in London and has had solo shows at The Truman Brewery, London (2007); The Redchurch Street Gallery, London (2009); New York Studio Gallery, New York (2010) and at Mercer Street Studios in 2011. In 2012, his sculpture Triumph in the face of absurdity was displayed in the Victoria and Albert Museum, (the piece, a collaboration for the 2012 Olympics between the artist and Sir Paul Smith). Charming Baker currently lives and works in London.
