About Dale Chihuly

Dale Chihuly (American, b. 1941) is known for his large-scale glass sculptures, which are particularly innovative in the field of blown glass. Chihuly studied at the College of Puget Sound, the University of Washington, the University of Wisconsin-Madison under Harvey Littleton, and the Rhode Island School of Design. Chihuly also received a Fulbright Fellowship to study glass blowing in Venice. In 1971, with the support of John Hauberg and Anne Gould Hauberg, Chihuly founded the Pilchuck Glass School near Stanwood, Washington.
