Description

‘Sand Circle’ consists of a circular hoop filled with liquid and sand, and set on a rectangular base. As the circle is moved, the liquid allows the sand to swirl at different speeds and in unique patterns.

About Daniel Arsham

Daniel Arsham (American, b. 1980) is a contemporary artist living and working in New York City. Arsham graduated from Cooper Union in 2003 and was the recipient of the Gelman Trust Fellowship Award. He founded the artist-run spaces “Placemaker” and “The House” in Miami. Arsham has collaborated with Merce Cunningham, designing lights, costumes, and the set for Cunningham’s “eyeSpace,” as well as with Hedi Slimane in designing the fitting rooms for Dior Homme’s Los Angeles store, and more recently, with Pharrell Williams.
