'He Said, She Said' is an idyllic triptych encapsulating a nostalgia for summertime and leisure. Photographer David Hilliard presents a voyeuristic view into a boys’ day at the lake, free from the stresses and pressures of day-to-day life in a society weighed down by infinite expectations and narratives prescribed to the modern man. The repeated physical mannerisms mimicked from one male subject to the next speak to a shared experience of navigating male identity.
