The present piece by Urban Art fixture, D*Face, is a playful and ironic depiction of a couple sharing a milkshake, rendered in a Lichtenstein-esque aesthetic. Both characters evoke a classic Hollywood glamour, reminiscent of the 1950s ideals of the nuclear family and the "American dream", which the artist has addressed satirically throughout much of his oeuvre. The male figure has an unmissable zombie-like appearance, reflective of the artist's attitude toward the aforementioned themes.

D*Face, born Dean Stockton (English, b. 1978), is a London-based street artist fascinated by love, loss, and the immortalization of celebrities. Thematically, D*Face draws on personal experiences and the consumerist impulses of modernity’s fascination with media and technology. Using a variety of different mediums, the artist aims to encourage the public not to just “see,” but to look at what surrounds them and their lives. By re-thinking, reworking, and subverting imagery drawn from decades of advertising, comic books, cartoons, and pop-culture, D*Face seeks to comment on our conspicuous capitalist society.
