Combining existing landscapes with digitally drawn architectural designs, Dionisio González’s practice involves searching for and imagining urban spaces where beauty and remnants of destructions can coexist. In his Inter-Acciones series (2013), he combines photographs of the Dauphin Island—an island located in the Gulf of Mexico that suffers from constant hurricanes and other natural disasters—with designs of futuristic, sustainable forts made of iron and concrete. Rather than focusing on physical devestation, González’s project aims to instead propose solutions from the perspective of an artist.
