About E.V. Day

E.V. Day (American, b. 1967) is a New York-based sculptor and installation artist whose work probes issues of gender and sexuality. Using material and imagery drawn from pop culture and art historical tradition, the artist uses irony and humor to subvert the viewer’s expectations and destabilize the conventional views of gender as a socially constructed identity. Day received her MFA in sculpture from Yale University School of Art and was included in the 2000 Whitney Biennial. Her works are included in the permanent collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art, The National Museum of Women in the Arts, and The Saatchi Collection, London.
