Iké Udé situates his practice at the intersection of art, fashion and popular culture. In his self-portrait project Sartorial Anarchy (2013), Udé merges masculine styles across vastly different time periods and cultures, subverting fixed conceptions of gender identity and pushing against the conventional restrictions of men’s fashion. In doing so, Udé creates a malleable global self.
