About James Siena

James Siena (American, b. 1957) is known for linear based abstract work. Siena works in a wide array of mediums including engraving, etching, drawing, lithography, and painting. He completed a residency at the Yaddo artist community in Saratoga Springs, New York and was elected to the board in 2008. He is also a member of the MFA Fine Arts faculty at the School of Visual Arts in New York. He has received numerous awards, including the Lewis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Biennial Award (1999), the Award in Art, American Academy of Arts and Letters, New York (2000), and the Eissner Artist of the Year Award, Cornell University (2009-2010). He lives and works in New York City.
