John Dugdale (American, b.1960) is a photographer who is best known for his photographs that employ 19th-century photographic processes. A successful career in commercial photography with clients that included Ralph Lauren and Bergdorf Goodman was cut short by an AIDS related stroke that left him blind in one eye and only twenty percent visibility in his left. Turning to intimate portraits, nudes and still-lifes, his subsequent work used a range of photographic processes, including cyanotypes, platinum prints and the mid 19th-century albumen process.
