About JPW3

JPW3 (American, b. 1981), alias of Patrick Walsh, is an American painter and curator currently living and working in Los Angeles, CA. His paintings are seemingly a collage of textural patterns and tactile imprints inspired by his childhood growing up in rural Pennsylvania. His peers, all skateboarders from the city, further impacted his artistic sensibilities as he honed his hobby and the artistic license derived from it - notably, the negotiation of space and repurposing existing structures for new meaning. His works provocatively traverse the mechanical and the ethereal within the framework of an inventive and cosmic narrative. He received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and his MFA from the University of Southern California.
