Photographer, Karlheinz Weinberger (1921-2006, Swiss), is best known for his portraits of bike gang affiliates and rebel youth teens of 1960s and 1970s Zurich. A recent rediscovery of Weinberger has resulted in an almost cult-like following, and the first retrospective exhibition dedicated to the photographer was held in 2000, a mere six years before his death. The artist’s affinity for documenting “outsider culture” also manifested in a series of erotic images published (under a pseudonym) in the famed, Swiss gay magazine, 'Der Kreis.'
