Wet-plate collodion chemical photogram on blackened aluminum
24.0 x 24.0 in (61.0 x 61.0 cm)
Signed on verso

This work ships from Maspeth, NY, US.

This abstract tintype photogram was made by experimenting with and exploiting the properties of wet-plate collodion chemistry in the darkroom. Unlike with a traditional photogram, only the ambient light of the space in which the plate was exposed and areas of the plate where chemistry was applied are recorded. No camera or enlarger was used. In allowing liquids of varying densities to interact, the artist was able to suggest the patterns of bayous and deltas and the powerful forces behind runoff and overflow.
