Kenny Scharf (American, b. 1958) is a Los Angeles-based artist. His work uses visual imagery from comic books, graffiti, and cartoons. He is known for being a key figure in the New York art scene in the 1980s and quickly rose to prominence thereafter. His bold style demonstrates the influence of his friends Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat. He is represented in several public collections worldwide and has had a number of international exhibitions.
