Kiki Smith (American, b. 1954) is a New York-based artist whose figurative work often explores the subjects of spirituality, gender, race, the human body, and humanity's relationship with nature. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Skowhegan Medal for Sculpture, the Women in the Arts Award from the Brooklyn Museum, and the U. S. State Department Medal of Arts.
