Mariah Robertson is best known for her enigmatic photographs that merge abstraction and figuration by manipulating the basic elements of photography in the darkroom: light, surface, and chemical agents. Here, she engages the transformative properties of the photographic process to capture a deck chair featuring a dynamic and playful approach to shadow, light, color, and composition.
