Throughout the late 80s and early 90s, Masi regularly built bikes for the Soviet Union national cycling teams. Their bikes were notably used by the team in the 1988 Seoul Olympics and the Tour DuPont. The “3V Ma3N CCCP” was destined for such competitive use; however, following the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 the team dissipated and the bikes were no longer needed. Masi consequently turned the bikes into a limited edition series of 100. This highly-coveted and extremely rare bike is built with 3V Volumetrica oversized tubing.
