“Sea Teeth (Molars II) is part of Molly Sullivan’s Waves & Shore series-- a collection of charcoal drawings that honor the relentless change of the ocean. In the foreground of this drawing, beachwood yawns its mouth open to reveal the skyline of an unknown city. Inspired by the beaches of Brooklyn, Queens, and Amelia Island, Florida, this drawing captures a singular moment in the ever-changing qualities of texture and light created by the sea. The interplay of light and dark actualized by charcoal alone is simply remarkable.”
