Nathan Hylden (American, b. 1978) is an American artist living and working in New York City. Widely regarded for his regulated procedure in creating his works, Hyldan’s tripartite painting process transposes variations within his sequence works - allowing them to exist in conversation with each other. Each painting of a series is either a translation or a faint reproduction of those preceding in their production. Each of his works, then, describe incidental effect -- a trait that has come to characterize his oeuvre; they can either be or not be.
