'Close Encounters' features one of street art duo Os Gêmeos’s signature yellow figures clad in vibrantly patterned clothing. Here, the slowly-sinking figure reaches out for a floating block with faces on each side; meanwhile, two miniature faces peek out from behind masklike holes in the figure’s breast pockets, invoking a palpable surrealist influence in the pair’s iconic style.

Otavio and Gustavo Pandolfo (Brazilian, b. 1974) are identical twin brothers known as "OSGEMEOS" ("Os Gêmeos" is Portuguese for "The Twins"). The brothers began painting graffiti in 1987, initially inspired by American hip-hop, as well as by traditional Brazilian culture.
