About Pedro Reyes

Pedro Reyes (Mexican b. 1972) is a contemporary artist who has won international attention for large-scale projects that take existing social problems and imagine their solutions. Reyes’ politically charged work often highlights the violence and use of illegal weapons in his country as he repurposes weapons for use in art projects and community programs. He studied architecture at the Ibero-American University in Mexico City. His work has been featured in numerous solo exhibitions including at the ICA, Miami, Whitechapel Gallery, London, Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, and the Guggenheim, New York. Group exhibitions include the Beijing Biennale, Lyon Biennale and the 50th Venice Biennale.
