Richard Colman (American, b. 1976), a graduate of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, is known for paintings that combine figurative imagery and bold geometry. Themes of life, death, and sexuality are explored through repetitive symmetrical compositions on vividly colorful canvases. Fluctuating between figuration and abstraction, some of his work focuses on geometric patterning, while other works favor figuration and narrative. Colman currently lives and works in San Francisco, California.
