Though he doesn't consider himself a photorealist, Robert Cottingham (American, b. 1935) is known for his photo-realistic depictions of storefront marquees and letter forms. His meticulous paintings and drawings depict American mid-century signs, manual cameras, railroad boxcars, or what he has called the “tools of the everyman,” in dynamic compositions.
