Ryan McGinley (American, b. 1977) is a contemporary photographer based in New York City. Utilizing a casual snapshot style, he achieves a heightened level of intimacy with his often nude subjects, revealing carefree attitudes and a lack of inhibitions. At 23 years old, McGinley is the youngest artist to have a solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum, and his work currently resides within the public collections of the San Francisco Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum, and the National Portrait Gallery, Washington, D.C.
