“Faye Dunaway at the Beverly Hills Hotel” demonstrates photographer Terry O’Neill’s skill at capturing his famous subjects in candid and unexpected moments. Here O’Neill photographs his then-girlfriend Faye Dunaway, the morning after she won an Academy Award for her role in “Network.” Reclining by the hotel pool, the star is still wearing stilettos from the festivities. The ordinariness of the breakfast tray and mess of newspapers is contrasted by the elegant golden statue displayed prominently on the table before her.
Slight wear on corners; photograph has been stored rolled and will ship in tube.

Terry O’Neill (English, b. 1938) is a photographer known for documenting fashion and celebrity in the 1960s. O’Neill captures his subjects candidly, often in unconventional settings. The photographer began his career working in a photographic unit at Heathrow Airport, London. He photographed a sleeping figure in the waiting area of the airport, who happened to be Britain’s Home Secretary. This image spurred his subsequent employment at “The Daily Sketch” in 1959. His first job was photographing Sir Laurence Olivier. He subsequently captured such illustrious subjects as the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Judy Garland, Elton John, and the Royal Family. In 2011, O’Neill was awarded the Royal Photographic Society’s Centenary medal.
