Thomas Wolski is a contemporary British artist whose media mainly involves intricate freehand illustration of sculptures, drawings, and curio. Wolski has worked with a host of global brands including Bentley, world famous premier league football clubs, and luxury fashion houses, quietly gaining a cult following amongst a host of A-list celebrities and collectors. As a result, his works are rarely exhibited.
Wolski loves to bedazzle the eye whilst stirring discussion, and often takes inspiration from everyday life and nostalgia, and his new piece is no exception. Entirely illustrated by hand, Are you taking the Mickey? is one half of a 3D nod to the most famous illustrator of all time (the other half is Mini Minnie, 2019).
The piece celebrates the 90 year anniversary of one of the most recognizable characters on the planet, inspired by pop culture and childhood memories, and part of a brand that is often synonymous with LGBT culture. Don’t “take the mick”, just “take the Mickey”!
