Wayne Thiebaud (American, b. 1920) is an artist best known for portraying colorful, sugary objects and treats, such as ice creams, all sorts of candy, hot dogs and pies. He received his B.A. and Master of Fine Arts degree from California State University, Sacramento in 1951-1952. He was greatly influenced by Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline and Robert Rauschenberg when he spent time in New York in the mid 50s.
