"Lagofa" is titled after a sailboat designed by Nathaniel Herreshoff, "The Wizard of Bristol." This abstract sculpture is constructed with wooden boat building methods including copper rivets, steam bent wood, stainless steel bolts and aluminum tubing. The laminar flow of wind over sails, celestial navigation, a rig under tension, and the movement of a boat hull through the water are all inspirational sources for "Lagofa's" form and meaning.
