Description

It is evident in William Wegman’s photographs that the artist views his canine subjects in an elevated light, treating their portraits with the same deference as one would any human model. Positioned in a cool, laid-back fashion, the pup takes on an anthropomorphic, laissez-faire persona, bolstered even more so by the animal’s sleek physical characteristics. Its piercing, almost translucent blue eyes, and drooping ears add to the subject’s blasé charisma in a way that most can recognize in their human peers.
