About Wyatt Kahn

Wyatt Kahn (American, b. 1983) is minimal abstraction artist who gained public attention for his sculptural “paintings.” Consisting of unpainted canvases stretched over irregularly shaped frames, his “paintings” afford him compositional freedom and full employment of negative space. These works interplay sophisticated formality and loose abstraction to stand as the subject of each work themselves. Kahn received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and his MFA from Hunter College. The artist was included on Complex Magazine’s list of “25 Artists to Watch in 2014” and was named one of The Next Generation in Architectural Digest. Kahn lives and works in New York City and is represented by Eva Presenhuber.
