Born Christopher Aguirre Schwarz, ZEVS (French, b. 1977) is an influential and innovative street artist. Entering the scene in the 1990s, he created a new technique called “reverse graffiti,” in which the artist strips dirty walls to reveal clean murals. He is also known for his “liquidations”—dripping logos and symbols that remind viewers that, though dominant in contemporary culture, popular brands will not last forever. ZEVS murals and prints have been exhibited worldwide.
